The Caromal Training Center has closed,
and after some 35 years of delivering Swimming Pool & Plantroom Training,
to thousands of delegates, Malcolm Bartier M.Inst.S.P.Eng. has now retired from teaching .

Malcolm Bartier M.Inst.S.P.Eng. (Member of The Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers) has been successfully delivering Swimming Pool & Plant Training throughout the UK and Europe for more than 35 years, and at our dedicated Training Centre at the rear of our offices located in Copford near Colchester, we provide a variety of Certificated Training Courses and Seminars for Swimming Pool Maintenance and Operation. Typically we deliver up to about 25 to 30 regular scheduled Certified Training Seminars from January to November (excluding August and December). We also deliver up to around 25 privately arranged Certified Training Courses for clients who wish their staff training dates are more convenient to their particular organisation, or have particular staff training requirements.

The Caromal Leisure Group is widely acknowledged as Experts in Swimming Pool Health & Safety, Swimming Pool Operation & Management, Swimming Pool Filtration & Circulation System Design and Swimming Pool Water Chemistry. We deliver high quality comprehensive Certified Training Courses for Swimming Pool and Wet Leisure Operators from throughout the UK , Europe and from many other countries. We are the longest serving, and largest dedicated Swimming Pool & Plant Training organisation and sucessfully train more wet leisure operatives than any other organisation in the UK.

The format and syllabus of each Training Seminar was originally formulated more than 25 years ago when we were probably the only independent Swimming Pool and Plantroom Training Organisation. (The syllabus is regularly updated to take into account changing Legal Requirements, Operating Procedures and Codes of Practice.)  The designation "Level 1",  "Level 2" and "Level 3"  etc.,  was specified by us at that time to clearly differentiate between the various training seminars that we provide.  Over the years the "Levels" designation has been imitated by other organisations. This imitation does not extend to the course Syllabus which is unique to ourselves and we believe remains the most comprehensive and practically based Specialist Training available.

Our Training Centre is fully equipped with overhead projection, video projection, computer animation and 'hands-on' equipment to reinforce the learning process. Each Certified Training Courses is supplemented with handbooks and notes etc, The numbers of delegates on each course is normally limited to a maximum of 12 in order to ensure individual attention and plenty of opportunities for questions throughout the day. A buffet lunch is provided for full day seminars and tea, coffee etc is continuously available. There is ample parking, railway stations not far away and a good selection of hotels close by.

Each of our Certified Training Courses have been carefully formulated to provide the maximum amount of both essential and useful relevant information to our delegates. The continuous successful delivery of our Pool & Plantroom Certified Training Courses has developed and honed our unique seminar program content and style

Over the years, many thousands of people and organisations have benefited from our comprehensive and no-nonsense approach to training based on an in-depth knowledge of the subject, frequent research and continuous practical experience in the field. Malcolm Bartier M.Inst.S.P.Eng. our principle lecturer is I.S.R.M. trained, he ran a commercial leisure pool for 10 years and is continuously involved in commercial pool operation, consultancy and maintenance.

Our clients include Local Authorities, Hotel and Leisure Groups, Schools, Hospitals, Shipping Companies, Swimming Teaching Centres, Canine and Equine Hydrotherapy Centres, and prospective & new employees in the Swimming Pool Maintenance Trade, etc.,

Our Certified Training Courses, particularly Level 1 Part 2 are very much "hands on". We have a variety of swimming pool equipment and parts for delegates to examine and "play with" so that they can see and understand exactly how the various items function.

Our Training Centre layout has been designed specifically to provide our Certified Training Courses and it is now impractical for us to transport all these items and equipment to provide quality "On Site" training to the same high standard that is delivered in our Training Centre.
